Crafted to offer a seamless, comfortable journey even at increased velocities and across rough landscapes, jogging strollers appeal to both avid runners and caregivers seeking effortless maneuverability for daily use.
Following rigorous testing of 18 different models, our assessment concluded that the Thule Urban Glide 3 emerges as the top choice for individuals predominantly navigating paved paths, while still capable of tackling occasional off-road excursions.
If you seek a jogging stroller that is slightly more compact in width and equipped with durable wheels specifically engineered for off-road adventures, you might find the BOB Gear Wayfinder to be a suitable alternative, which we also recommend as an excellent choice.
Everything we recommend
Thule Urban Glide 3
The best jogging stroller
Pushing this stroller on pavement is a delightful experience. Thanks to its lightweight design, maneuvering it is effortless, making it highly convenient for everyday use.
Among the array of jogging strollers scrutinized, the Thule Urban Glide 3 stands out for its notably lighter weight compared to the majority of alternatives. Coupled with its superior craftsmanship, exceptional maneuverability, and adept suspension system, this stroller delivers the most gratifying experience when navigating paved surfaces. The Urban Glide 3 boasts enhanced padding and harness adjustability compared to other contenders in our evaluation. Its distinctive curved-handlebar design caters effectively to individuals of varying heights. While its sleeker wheels are optimized for jogging on pavement, the Urban Glide 3 can adeptly manage brief off-road journeys with ease.
BOB Gear Wayfinder
Better for rougher terrain
This sleeker, more compact jogging stroller features durable wheels adept at navigating various terrains effectively. However, it weighs more than our preferred choice and comes with a harness that is slightly more intricate.
If you’re in search of a stroller that excels in off-road adventures surpassing any other model we’ve tested, the BOB Gear Wayfinder is the ideal choice. It shares a similar height with the Thule Urban Glide 3 but is approximately 2 inches slimmer, facilitating easier storage in car trunks or maneuvering through grocery store aisles. Additionally, it boasts a superior bicycle-style hand brake. Due to their heavily treaded tires and robust suspension system, BOB Gear strollers outperform Thule strollers on gravel and dirt terrain. Nevertheless, the Wayfinder weighs slightly over 5 pounds more than the Thule Urban Glide 3 and features a harness that is more challenging to buckle and tighten. Additionally, it offers a smaller basket and fewer easily accessible storage pockets. Hence, if your running routes primarily consist of dirt paths only occasionally, the compromises involved may not justify the switch.
Chicco Activ3 Jogging Stroller
The best cheaper option
The Activ3 provides adjustable suspension and a reasonably comfortable ride, all at a notably reduced cost compared to our other recommendations. However, it features a lower total weight limit, a smaller storage basket, and lacks a hand brake.
While the Chicco Activ3 Jogging Stroller may not match the high-quality construction, exceptional maneuverability, and advanced suspension system of the Thule Urban Glide 3, nor does it boast the off-road capabilities of the BOB Gear Wayfinder, it still stands out among other budget-friendly options we’ve tested. The Activ3 features a comfortable seat with a flatter recline, making it ideal for on-the-go naps. Additionally, it offers adjustable handlebars, a front wheel lock, and adjustable suspension, which are advantageous features not found in our other selections.
